HOW TO PROPERLY PICK A TOY FOR YOUR PUP

Posted: Jul 15 2016

Let us help you find the perfect toy for your pet! Here are a few things to consider when searching for a toy...

1. Size Matters.

Pick a toy that your dog will be able to comfortably and safely play with. We have sizing symbols on our site as a little helping hand.

2. Double Whammy.

Consider getting a dog toy that has a dual purpose or provides your pup with more ways to play. Try a toy that’s designed to help with a teething puppy or one that cleans those pearly whites.

WE RECOMMEND: Rawhiders  $8.99 - $19.99

3. Indestructible.

As much as we wish they were, no dog toy is indestructible. Make sure to think about whether your dog is a chewer. If so, you may want to avoid plush toys and try something a little more durable.

WE RECOMMEND: Mega Mashers  $5.99 - $9.99

4. Cuddle Buddy.

If you’ve ruled out that your dog is a chewer, sometimes the best option is a plush toy that they can play, carry or snuggle with. Cuddly toys are also great to have for puppies who may still be missing their litter mates.

WE RECOMMEND: Silly Bums  $9.99 - $15.99

5. Triple Threat.

For the pups who seem to lose interest quickly, try choosing toys that combine multiple materials and sounds such as plush, rubber, and squeakers. This will bring triple-the-fun to playtime!

WE RECOMMEND: Super Plush  $7.99 - $12.99

6.  Location, Location, Location.

Does your dog like to play outside or in the water? If so, choose a dog toy that can easily be cleaned off… or better yet… is waterproof!

WE RECOMMEND: Gnawbbers  $4.99 - $8.99

7.  Quality Time.

Don’t want to feel left out? Pick a toy that you and your dog can play with together. Rope toys are great for games of tug or fetch.

WE RECOMMEND: Zany Bunch  $7.99 - $14.99

8.  For the OG.

If you have a senior dog consider the things above, but also remember that your four-legged may need something a little softer to play with.

WE RECOMMEND: Sprong  $7.99 - $10.99
